Why should we care about the nutrition?
Nutrition profoundly affects your health and the quality of your life. Deficiencies, excesses, and imbalances of nutrients bring on the diseases of malnutrition. Every single thing that goes in your mouth has an affect….either positive or negative on your health and well-being.
In the nutrition course you will learn to promote a healthy lifestyle, understand how to do so and to encourage others to do so. You will learn how the body uses food, about your immune system and how to treat inflammation with the right foods rather than “a pill”.
Students examine functions in the body and food sources of various micro- and macronutrients as well as energy balance and the role of nutrition in disease prevention and management. Students will apply key nutritional principles learning to make immediate health and lifestyle improvements.
We will talk about positive healthy alternatives, healthy holistic living and natures way of healing the body, mind and emotions.
